Design lovers hoping for a “bolt” of inspiration got just what they were looking for on April 6 at Cocktails & Conversation.

The event hosted by Palm Beach Regency, along with The Scout Guide of Palm Beach and The Scout Guide of Jupiter & Palm Beach Gardens, featured a panel of five of the area’s top interior designers: Cece Bowman with Kemble Interiors, Helen Bergin with Helen Bergin Interiors, Alison Skipper with Hive Palm Beach, Dana Small with Dana Small Designs and Chelsea Lane with Chelsea Lane & Co.

As the event commenced, a nasty storm set in. Rain blew sideways, lightening ripped through the sky and cell phone alarms warned about a possible tornado touching down nearby. Luckily the storm didn’t pack enough power to dampen our guests’ spirits.

Attendees had hoped to enjoy the beautiful outdoor venue staged with PBR’s vintage furniture, two stocked bars and a lounge area with rentals from Atlas Event Rental. But instead the Florida crowd did what Floridians do best: HUNKER DOWN. Over a hundred guests poured into our PBR showroom and the show went on.

Stacey Leuliette, of The Scout Guide, introduced the guests while Korinne Belock, of PBR, moderated the panel. After a lively discussion that included design secrets, current trends, and inventive ways to use vintage furniture in the home, guests were able to ask questions and later meet their design crushes in person.

Guests left with damp, but still fabulous swag bags filled with goodies from our sponsors. Many also left with PBR treasures to take home with 15 percent of sales that evening donated to the Historical Society of Palm Beach County.
